John Woodnutt, entrepreneur and inventor of electronic lighting control technology, has been awarded an MBE for services to Business and Entrepreneurship in the 2023 New Year Honours list. The Delmatic system provides total flexibility with individual addressable control of every luminaire enabling each of the Government departments within the complex to set lighting levels, scenes and operations to precisely match their requirements.
The intelligent building integrates thirteen hi-tech sub-systems across a common TCPIP Ethernet backbone, and is designed to achieve a productive and cost-effective environment by optimising mechanical and electrical systems.
One aspect of integration within such a secure and sensitive building is that overtime has to be approved in advance. Overtime sanctioned through the facilities management system is transferred to the lighting and building management systems causing lighting and air-conditioning to extend until the end of the overtime allowance, thus maximising the efficiency of both building services and individuals.
