Delmatic have supplied advanced DALI lighting control systems to the two new stations – Nine Elms and Battersea Power Station – as well as the Northern Line underground tunnels and shafts. The state-of-the-art systems play a key role in supporting London Underground’s goal to maximise the energy-efficiency and sustainability of London’s transport network.
Integration with central battery networks
Delmatic’s smart DALI systems provide enhanced sustainability through energy-efficient digital dimming, presence and absence detection, and photocell control in daylit areas, coupled with the operational efficiencies gained through real-time management and monitoring of the lighting network. Delmatic’s cutting-edge DALI Buswire modules deliver fully-addressable scene-setting of normal and emergency lighting, while integration with the central battery networks tracks the real-time performance and status of the central batteries, emergency lamps and drivers to provide a comprehensive emergency light monitoring solution.
Advanced software algorithms enhance station safety and security
Delmatic’s advanced graphical user interface provides unmatched real-time visibility and analysis of the entire lighting network including emergency light monitoring and testing. The graphical user interface monitors and displays the operational status of every lamp and driver, flags failures in real time, and generates relamping plans to ensure luminaires are sustainably replaced at the optimum point. The systems also contribute to station safety and security through advanced software algorithms which automatically increase the output of remaining lighting to compensate for lamp failures – a feature first introduced on the Delmatic systems on the London Crossrail network.
Gateway to London’s largest regeneration project
The new underground station a gateway to London’s largest regeneration project Battersea Power Station provides a gateway to London’s largest regeneration project – the transformation of grade II* listed Battersea Power Station and 42-acre former industrial brownfield site into a vibrant mixed-use development. Delmatic cutting-edge IP, DALI-2 and DMX systems also manage and monitor lighting throughout the iconic Battersea Power Station and surrounding residential and external spaces.
